UPGRADING PROGRAMS - VESSELS

All the company vessels fully met the classification society standards upon acquisition and/or prior to commissioning in the inter-island service. It is the company's policy to maintain all vessels to class standards and, up to the present time, all vessels are trading without outstanding class recommendations.

Inspite of their excellent condition at date of commissioning, the company has undertaken the following projects to improve performance:

1. Modification of cargo piping layout to increase natural segregation from the standard two (2) grades to four (4).

2. Rehabilitation and/or replacement of cargo pumps to improve performance.

3. Installation of brand new radar units to improve navigational safety. Some vessels were also equipped with second radar sets.

4. Improvement of vessel mooring arrangements.

5. Modifications to allow main engine to use heavier fuels and improve performance.

6. Completed ISM Certification of all ships by 1999.
